You're selling your home, but you don't know how to go about primping and polishing before Buyers arrive. Here are a couple
tips to follow as you prepare to stage for showings. 1.) CLEAN: Many
agents agree, the #1 recommended improvement for your home is to clean and de-clutter. a. Clean the bathroom(s) and put out fresh towels.
Close the lid on the toilets, and make sure all counters, sinks, showers, and
mirrors are wiped down. b. Get some fresh air into your home. This doesn’t
mean to mask household odors with smelly candles and sprays. Try opening a
window, putting out fresh flowers, cleaning out the litter box, washing the dog
bed, and taking out the garbage before every showing. c. Control the clutter. Make sure beds are made and all toys are stored away. Free all surfaces from knick-knacks,
papers, and gadgets. Put things in their place. 2.) LIGHT: The best way to highlight a room is to
allow for proper lighting. Make sure all curtains, shades, and blinds are open.
Turn on all the lights in your home, including lamps, and replace bulbs if
necessary. Washing the windows is not a bad idea either. 3.) STAGE: Many Sellers pay to have someone professionally stage their home, but you can easily do it yourself. Such things as putting out fresh flowers, setting out place mats on the
dining room table, and rearranging your furniture for better sightlines will surely intrigue Buyers to choose your home over the competition. It's all about presentation. 4.) LANDSCAPE: The inside of your home is not the
only area Buyer’s will be analyzing. It’s important to keep up on lawn care. Be sure to mow your lawn, trim the shrubbery, and water if needed to keep everything bright and green.
